IoT Prototyping Lab

The IoT Protolab is a modern electronics laboratory where innovative people can come together to exchange and explore new ideas, technologies and inventions.

Our laboratory is equipped with a variety of tools, instruments that can help you realize your ideas faster, cheaper and better.
We specialize in the rapid prototyping of applications related to IoT and wireless technology. Our setup allows you to make prototypes, PCBs, and material testing (from -40°C to 180°C). In addition we also provide equipment for precompliance for products with RF components.

The initial investment in equipment for our lab came out of a collaboration with Telenor and Wireless Trondheim. This sponsorship traces back to March 2018, marked by the opening of the IoT ProtoLab, a milestone event attended by Telenor CEO Sigve Brekke and NTNU Rector Gunnar Bovim.
Since 2021, the lab has been maintained by FAKTRY, and during this past significant upgrades have been possible with the contribution of R. Kjeldsberg, and SpareBank1 SMN.

Workshop

The FAKTRY workshop is a hardware workshop accessible to our members. The workshop provides a workspace for building and testing hardware prototypes (metal, wood and plastics) in all ranges from small to full scale, and a personal storage space for each member company.

3D Lab

Members have full access to our 3D printers making it easy to adjust and test designs while developing.

Our 3D Lab supports your prot needs with your printers. We provide basic filament and printing support.
